Faustine’s Incredible Success, a French Teacher for Rugby Players’ Wives
Faustine Rebeyrol-Brimeure from Castres has launched her French course business for the partners of professional rugby players. She now teaches our language to women from many Top 14 and Pro D2 clubs!
She is carving out a solid reputation in the world of professional rugby — away from the pitch. For a year and a half, Faustine Rebeyrol-Brimeure from Castres has been offering French lessons specifically designed for the wives and partners of professional players. Since the beginning of her activity in Castres and now as it expands to Brive, her appointment schedule has never stopped filling up.
“Learning French to manage everyday life”
Let’s go back to June 2024. Faustine left her job as a French teacher at Notre-Dame de Castres high school. She wanted to do something different. The idea came from what she observed daily. She is married to Julien Rebeyrol, physical trainer at Castres Olympique for a decade. “I wanted to support the rugby players’ wives from CO in learning French, but I didn’t want to do it in a traditional way. Some of them were already coming to see me informally.”
Faustine Rebeyrol-Brimeure is well aware of the difficulties these “expat wives” sometimes face. “They arrive in a foreign country and must manage their lives, their children, all while dealing with the constraints of professional rugby. The goal was really to teach them French to manage everyday life, with useful things for daily situations.”
She then founded Women Speak French and began giving private lessons to players’ wives from Castres Olympique. Partners such as Chilachava, Goodhue, and Collier sought her help, followed by some academy players. At the end of the 2024–2025 season, she left Castres for Brive, where her husband was appointed performance director for CA Brive. “Very quickly, word of mouth worked!” — and spread beyond Corrèze.
Within a few months, Faustine became the French teacher for professional clubs in the south of France. Every day, she teaches “useful” French to the partners of players from Castres, Brive, Stade Toulousain, Union Bordeaux-Bègles, Colomiers, and Oyonnax. “The jersey doesn’t matter. We all share the same daily life, where very little can be planned. I have many women who have been in France for two or three years and who want to take the next step, who want to ‘move beyond the expat group’ in a way.”
Faustine provides private lessons while also organizing in-person “coffee discussions” with Brive-based students and online “third halves” with all her learners. Regularly, women from different clubs and cities — from Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, South Africa, and the Tonga Islands — come together to talk… in French. “They want French friends, they want to be able to choose a doctor who doesn’t necessarily speak English…”
With Women Speak French, Faustine Rebeyrol-Brimeure has found a passion that drives her, serving others. She now hopes to “continue growing her community.” She is already preparing the next step: going to meet “her girls” directly in the clubs.
