“I don’t learn, I do. And that’s when it stays with me.”
That’s exactly the spirit of the French Yoga session we experienced together last week.
The best learning doesn’t happen with lists of words to memorize on your own.
It happens in lived moments : when we are together, supportive, when we dare, when we share something real.
That’s when words start to truly make sense.
Last week, the girls and I shared a very special moment: 1 hour and 15 minutes of yoga in French.
Before the session, they received a simple document with a few key words and expressions , just enough to have them in mind before arriving.
Not to memorize.
Just to gently prepare.
Then we practiced.
We breathed.
We moved.
And most importantly, we let French sink into the body, not just stay in the head.
The idea is simple: learning French while taking double care of yourself.
Your body.
Your mind.
And the connection with other women.
Because we’re not just doing yoga.
We’re sharing time together, in a safe and caring space.
We feel less alone.
We feel more capable.
The goal is not to speak perfectly.
The goal is to feel better, more confident, and above all to be able, one day, to practice yoga — or any other activity — comfortably in French, without fear or mental blocks.
More French Yoga sessions will be happening very soon for the girls in BRIVE.
And if, in your rugby club, you’d like to offer the girls a different way to learn French (while also giving them time for themselves) I would be delighted to create this experience with you.
Learning the language differently.
Without pressure.
Without desks.
Without fear of making mistakes.
A moment for yourself,
a moment together.
