Today’s WSF 3rd Half : French Healthcare System, Between Tips and Laughter

Today we got together for our WSF Third Half, with a very practical topic: the French healthcare system. Because when you live in France, there’s always that moment when you wonder: okay… but what do I actually do if I need a doctor?

The idea was simple: share useful tips and key information to help everyone know what to do when they need:

  • a doctor,

  • an on-call pharmacy,

  • or simply how to complete or send a document within the French system.

The girls talked a lot and asked many questions. Some shared what they already knew, while others talked about things they had always wanted to understand.

And most importantly, everything was done in French.

That was exactly the goal: one hour just for them :  to practice, dare to speak, try out sentences, ask how to say something… and leave with useful key phrases for real-life situations.

Because learning French in a textbook is not the same as saying:

  • “I’m looking for the on-call pharmacy.”

  • “I need to send this document, how do I do it?”

For one hour, they had the opportunity to speak, try, and even make mistakes. The kind of moment that boosts both confidence and French at the same time.

And then came the end of the discussion…

While they were still chatting together in French, someone suddenly realized that their husbands were playing on the same field that evening.

And then came a moment of silence… followed by a burst of laughter:

“Wait, what number is your husband?”
“Who is he again? Show me!”

Just like that, the conversation shifted from the healthcare system… to the players on the field.

In the end, this is exactly what we love about these moments:
learning useful things to navigate life in France, practicing French through real-life situations, and most importantly creating connections between the women of the club who are often living the same experience.

It’s about conviviality, trust, shared experiences… and plenty of laughter.

In short: one hour just for them — and one hour that feels really good.

Want to join the next one?

If you couldn’t make it this time but would like to take part in a Third Half on the French healthcare system, we can organize another session.

All it takes is a minimum of 3 women and up to 10, one hour that works for everyone, and we share this time together.

If you’re interested, send me a message on WhatsApp and we’ll organize it together.
I would be delighted for you to experience it too!
